Version: [6418] Velorona 1.1.7

**Velorona 1.1.7 — Microwave Link Clearance and Weather Exposure for
QGIS 4**

Velorona helps telecom engineers, RF planners, and network analysts
assess microwave link terrain clearance, Fresnel zone obstruction, and
weather-related signal attenuation directly in QGIS.

**What it does**

Select a Fixed Service microwave link or define two sites to evaluate
terrain clearance, Fresnel-zone clearance, and weather exposure.
Results provide a clear status — CLEAR, WATCH, AT RISK, CRITICAL, or
NO DATA — with the reason, key measurements, and supporting evidence.

**What's new since 1.1.4**

- **United States data:** Explore FCC ULS microwave links in the
current map view using the guided USA Data Setup workflow. The USA
data pack is separate and is not bundled with the plugin. Canadian
data remains available without it.
- **Canadian antenna heights:** Uses licensee-reported ISED
antenna-height data instead of assuming 30 m for every endpoint. US
antenna heights remain 30 m and are explicitly labelled Assumed.
- **Rain attenuation:** Uses ITU-R P.838-3 rain coefficients and
correctly converts Open-Meteo's 15-minute precipitation totals to
hourly rates. Snow, freezing precipitation, and mixed precipitation
are presented separately rather than counted as rain.
- **Clearer analysis:** Summary, Details, and Evidence views;
baseline-based change comparisons; and rule-based Ask answers grounded
in the current result.
- **Data provenance:** Values are labelled Observed, Model-derived,
Calculated, Inferred, or Assumed. Excel and CSV exports include
data-source information, product and library versions, and the
earth-curvature convention.
- **Interface improvements:** Zoom-dependent map-cluster fading,
authorization numbers in link titles, configurable Records table
columns, and improved layouts for narrow panels.

**Important limitations**

Results are model-based engineering estimates for investigation, not
outage predictions. Calculations use the published
`aei-link-clearance` and `aei-microwave-link-exposure` libraries.
Install the required dependencies listed in `requirements.txt`.
Requires QGIS 4.0 or newer.
