Exports selected vector layers to a single GeoPackage file together with their symbology (embedded as default styles) and preserved layer order — your entire project in one portable file, ready to share.
YOUR ENTIRE PROJECT IN ONE FILE, WITH SYMBOLOGY PRESERVED
The plugin exports selected vector layers to a single GeoPackage file (.gpkg) together with their colors, labels, and styles. Styles are embedded directly in the GeoPackage and set as default styles. As a result, when the recipient drags the file into QGIS, the map is displayed with the same symbology as in the original project. The layer order is preserved. Optionally, the complete QGIS project can also be stored inside the GeoPackage.
.
WHY IT IS CONVENIENT:
- one .gpkg file instead of dozens of shapefiles — send it by e-mail like a regular attachment,
- symbology travels inside the file as the default style — no more grey layers after an export,
- the whole QGIS project (layer order and visibility) can be embedded in the same file and opened with Project > Open From > GeoPackage.
.
LAYER SELECTION:
- visible layers only (default),
- all project layers,
- manual selection from a checklist (with select/deselect all buttons).
.
HOW TO USE:
1. Open your QGIS project and click the plugin button.
2. Select the location where the .gpkg file should be saved.
3. Select the layers to export.
4. Click SAVE TO GPKG and monitor the progress bar.
.
HOW TO OPEN THE FILE:
- Drag the .gpkg file into the QGIS window — the layers will be loaded with their predefined symbology.
- Or select Project > Open From > GeoPackage to open the complete project layout with a single action.
.
NOTES:
- Only vector layers are exported; raster layers are skipped and reported in the log.
- An existing file with the same name will be overwritten after confirmation.
- Layer names are sanitized and made unique automatically.
- QGIS 3.16 or later is required; no additional software or dependencies are needed.
