MonitorEO-OBSNEV: open monitoring tool of Essential Biodiversity Variables based on satellite sensors (University of Granada): time series, trends, maps and exports with Google Earth Engine
MonitorEO-OBSNEV is an open monitoring tool of Essential Biodiversity Variables based on satellite sensors and models generated by the University of Granada. It enables citizens, managers, and scientists to create maps and graphs of key ecosystem metrics to support decision-making. Computes the variables of MonitorEO with Google Earth Engine (NDVI, EVI, NDWI, LSWI, NDSI, albedo, land surface temperature, evapotranspiration, LAI, ...) from Sentinel-2, Landsat and MODIS, with their pixel filters (clouds, water, snow, aerosols), over a layer, the map extent, a protected area (WDPA) or an ecoregion: time series (table, CSV and chart), maps with queryable values, seasonal trends (Mann-Kendall and Sen), comparison of periods and exports of GeoTIFF and CSV to Google Drive. By default it computes with the shared Earth Engine account of MonitorEO, with no sign-in; with the Google account of the user (earthengine authenticate) and their Google Cloud project, it also exports to Google Drive. The same functions as the Python package monitoreo, its MCP server and its R package. --- MonitorEO is an output of the EVEREST Project (PID2023-151939OB-I00), funded by MICIU/AEI 10.13039/501100011033, and co-funded by ERDF – European Union, as well as of the NevadEO Project (C-EXP-074-UGR23), co-funded by the ERDF 2014-2020 Program and the Regional Ministry of Economy, Knowledge, Enterprise, and Universities of the Regional Government of Andalusia.
