Version: [5458] Freehand Georeferencer 20260905.3

20260905
- Added a raster-only help action for the zero-GCP case: click the
primary button to add a first GCP from the raster center to the map
canvas center, making initial alignment easier when the raster is far
from the map origin.
- Fixed the primary button state so it returns to "Apply" as soon as
the raster has one or more GCPs, whether they were added manually or
via the helper.
- Replaced assert statement with explicit error checking in raster
georeferencing to ensure proper behavior in optimized Python bytecode.
- Fixed add-to-current-layer vector output so newly created features
do not copy a source `fid` value into the target layer. This avoids
save-time conflicts when the target layer has a fid/identifier field
and prevents errors during layer write-back.
- Fixed raster georeferencing for nested VRT-to-VRT workflows: prior
rotation/shear/scale edits are preserved and remain aligned with the
preview.
- Fixed upside-down output on plain raster images by selecting the
correct base geotransform when raw images are transformed.
- Restored raster snapping using the full 3x3 image frame (corners,
edge midpoints, and center) for both the source raster and other
visible raster layers.
- Improved consistency between preview transform and applied output
transform for georeferenced raster frames.
20260810
- UI refinements, residual red guide lines displayed in front, initial
transparency set to 50%, and duplicate output names avoided when a VRT
with the same name already exists.
20260806
- Add transparency slider for raster layer. "Thanks to MrChebur"
- Made the preview transparency control active only for raster target
layers.
20260620
- Renamed to "Freehand Georeferencer": now supports BOTH vector and
raster layers.
- Raster georeferencing: free-point source picking, live image-overlay
preview,
lossless apply via a VRT geotransform (no resampling). Output gets the
layer/project CRS written so it is self-describing.
- Web/tile rasters (GSI maps, XYZ/WMS/WMTS) are excluded from the
target list.
- Internal refactor into a shared core + per-type backends; vector
behavior is unchanged.
- Carries over the toolbar ▼ "How to use (watch video)" dropdown.
20260617
- Toolbar dropdown (▼) with "How to use (watch video)"; license
unified to GPL v3.
20260616 and earlier
- Vector georeferencing: Helmert/Affine, vertex snapping, scope,
new/add/edit apply, GCP CSV.
