Discover and add layers from the Danish Environmental Portals (Danmarks Miljøportal) data catalogue
With the Danish Environmental Portal plugin, you can easily load all layers from the Danish Environmental Portal's Data Catalog. The Data Catalog contains all map layers displayed from the public databases with nature and environmental data found at the Environmental Portal, such as the Naturdatabasen, DKjord, Arealeditering, PULS, VanDa, etc.
In addition to these layers, the Data Catalog contains several hundred other publicly available layers relevant to working with environmental and nature data. Data is displayed via web services, and most layers are available as WMS, WFS, or WMTS. It is possible to switch between desired types in the plugin.
For all layers, it is possible to view metadata, which includes a description of the map layer, tags, data owner, and other information about the data.
The map layers are grouped into main categories but can also be sorted by data owner or data collections if the map is part of a collection. Additionally, the search field can be used to find desired datasets, after which the map layer is easily added to the view. It is also possible to add layers from collections.
About the Danish Environmental Portal
The Danish Environmental Portal is a public partnership owned by the state, municipalities, and regions, aimed at supporting digital environmental management in Denmark. The basic idea is that the state, municipalities, and regions input, update, and retrieve data from the same databases, and that data is also made available to businesses and citizens.
It includes data on the environment, water, nature, land use, and climate adaptation. The data is used across various areas, for example, when citizens retrieve soil contamination certificates, when municipalities designate pesticide-free areas, or when the state prepares the national water plan, and wastewater regulations.
