CoverCraft - Internet Coverage Mapper
Turn BTS towers into coverage maps in QGIS: model cellular/internet signal, find the blank spots, and get suggested new tower sites — over real terrain and buildings.
CoverCraft turns a set of BTS tower locations into planning-grade coverage intelligence, directly inside QGIS. It models best-server signal (RSRP) from sectored antennas over a real DEM + building DSM, accounting for terrain and building obstruction using COST-231 Hata / free-space path loss and 3GPP antenna patterns.
From that, it delivers three things:
(1) a clear signal heatmap of who gets coverage and how strong,
(2) blank-spot polygons with area and, with an optional population raster, the number of people left uncovered
(3) suggested new BTS locations that fill the largest gaps first, optionally ranked by administrative area (village / subdistrict / city / regency).
New BTS points, rasters, and coverage-radius polygons drop straight in via drag-and-drop from the .gpkg output, and the underlying methodology is grounded in peer-reviewed research. Think of it as a fast, honest first pass for network planning and digital-divide analysis a planning-grade approximation, not a full engineering RF planner.
