Converts DXF/DWG into GIS layers grouped by CAD layers, with block-preserving merge, reprojection and export to GeoPackage or Shapefile.
Converts CAD drawings (DXF, and DWG via ODA File Converter, LibreDWG or GDAL) into GIS layers grouped by CAD layer and geometry type (LINE / POLYGON / POINT).
Features: per-INSERT block preservation (keep-merge) or explode, nested blocks, hatches with holes, block attributes (ATT_*), TEXT/MTEXT extraction, reprojection (e.g. TWD97 EPSG:3826 to WGS84), WGS84 bounding-box filter, Unicode (e.g. Chinese) layer names, export to GeoPackage or Shapefile and automatic loading into QGIS. Also available as a Processing algorithm.
DWG: if neither ODA File Converter nor LibreDWG is installed, LibreDWG (GPL-3.0, Windows) can be downloaded from its official GitHub releases on request; DWG R2000 can always be read with GDAL's built-in CAD driver.
Python requirements: geopandas, pandas, shapely, pyproj and pyogrio (or fiona); ezdxf is recommended. QGIS does not ship geopandas - the plugin shows what is missing and can install it with pip on Windows/macOS after confirmation (Linux: use your distribution packages, e.g. python3-geopandas).
