geodb.io QGIS Plugin v2.8.3 — Release Notes Professional Filing Maps with Surveyor's Bearings and Annotations This release overhauls the claims map generation system to produce professional-quality filing maps that meet state-specific requirements for AZ and NV county recording. What's New Surveyor's Bearing Notation All filing maps now use proper surveyor's bearing format (e.g., N 45°00' W) instead of cardinal directions. Metes and bounds descriptions read: "Beginning at Corner No. 1, thence N 90°00' W, 1,500.00 ft to Corner No. 2; thence..." Dimension Annotations on Claim Edges Claim polygon edges are now labeled directly on the map with their distances (1,500' and 600'), making claim boundaries immediately readable without cross-referencing a legend or text block. Reference Tie Line A dashed red line is drawn from the survey monument to Corner No. 1, labeled with the surveyor's bearing and distance. This is the standard "tie" shown on mining claim filing maps connecting the claim to a known PLSS corner. Corner Labels Filing maps now show C1, C2, C3, C4 labels at each corner with an (LM) suffix on the location monument corner, meeting county recorder requirements for corner identification. Reference Point Marker The survey monument / reference point appears as a distinctive red triangle with its name labeled, making the tie line origin clearly identifiable.
