A QGIS plugin that synchronizes the QGIS map view with Google Earth Pro for real-time view updates.
GE Live View allows real-time synchronization between QGIS and Google Earth Pro by exporting the current map view as a continuously updated KML file and linking it in Google Earth Pro as a Network Link.
Open Google Earth Pro
Launch Google Earth Pro and keep it running in the background.
Run the GE Live View plugin in QGIS
Open QGIS and load your layers, then activate GE Live View from the Plugins menu or toolbar. The plugin automatically generates a KML file on the Desktop (for example, GE_Live_View.kml).
Add the KML as a Network Link in Google Earth Pro
In Google Earth Pro, go to Add → Network Link, browse to the Desktop, select the generated KML file, and click OK.
Enable auto refresh (recommended)
Open the Network Link Properties and first select “Fly to view on refresh.” Then set the refresh mode to Periodically and set the refresh interval to 1 second so that Google Earth Pro updates continuously.
Set fly speed to fast (important)
Go to Tools → Options → Navigation in Google Earth Pro, set Fly-To Speed to Fast, and click Apply and OK.
Start live synchronization
Pan or zoom in QGIS and Google Earth Pro will update in real time.
For normal use of Google Earth Pro, simply turn off or disable the Network Link.
