Selecting a composer with locked layers, will set activated layers and styles in the main canvas accordingly

When you have locked layers in a composer, and sometimes locked styles, you can set the layer states of the main canvas accordingly to the composer. This restores the visibility and styles of layers in the same state as the layers in the selected composer.
