description=Download and load the world's administrative boundaries: countries and territories (ADM0) and each country's first- and second-level administrative divisions (ADM1, ADM2), as polygons or lines, at four levels of detail. Open data built from OpenStreetMap (Terrae).
about=Adds global administrative boundaries to a QGIS project at three nested levels: ADM0, 255 countries, territories and special areas; ADM1, the first-level administrative divisions of each country; ADM2, the second-level divisions within them. Divisions follow each country's own administrative structure, so what they are varies by country: states and counties in the United States, autonomous communities and provinces in Spain, regions and departments in France. Each level nests exactly within the one above. Boundaries come as polygons or as classified lines (international borders, internal boundaries, coastlines), at four levels of detail, from the native geometry of OpenStreetMap to about 1,500 m. Select the whole world, chosen countries or individual divisions, from a searchable list or on the map canvas. Ready-made cartographic layers: All levels (every level and the coastline in one layer of lines, with symbology that adapts to the map scale), Coastline and a Cartographic base. Only the files a request needs are downloaded; they are checked against published checksums and cached for offline use, and a local copy of the data repository can be used instead. Data: Terrae (https://github.com/p-rubi/terrae), built from OpenStreetMap, with its methodology published; Open Database License 1.0, (c) OpenStreetMap contributors. Internet access is needed the first time data is requested.

changelog=0.2.0 New layer All levels: every administrative level and the coastline in one layer of lines, without fill, with colours and widths that follow the map scale and finer levels that fade out when zoomed out. New layers Coastline (the coast line only) and Cartographic base (land, country boundaries and coast). The layer selector is ordered under headings (Reference, Other level-0 views, Cartographic) and "Dataset" is now "Layer". A choice to apply the Terrae symbology or keep QGIS's default look. The repository is read in the background, with a connection indicator (icon and tooltip) in place of a fixed "Not connected"; the saved copy is used when offline; a slow first request is retried automatically. A larger icon for the plugin manager and the plugin site. QGIS 4 compatibility declared by the maximum QGIS version alone, as the QGIS 4 migration guide asks; dialogs call exec() directly. 0.1.2 Fixes for the QGIS security and quality scan: errors that were silently ignored are now logged; a SHA-256 hash replaces SHA-1 for the name of a cache folder; dialogs are run with exec() (Qt 6). 0.1.1 Description and help reworded: the first and second levels are each country's own administrative divisions; shorter help. 0.1.0 First version: countries (reference, de facto and disputed areas), first-level and second-level administrative divisions; polygons and lines; four levels of detail; whole world, chosen countries or single divisions, from a list or on the map; verified downloads kept for offline use; online repository or a local copy.
