description=Interactive visualisation of historical and prehistoric sea levels over a DEM
about=Sea Level Slider adds a dockable slider that shows how a digital elevation model (DEM) would be submerged at a given historical/prehistoric sea level, for shoreline-displacement ("strandlinje") studies used in Norwegian archaeology to model land uplift and predict coastal site locations since the last ice age.

Ported from an ArcGIS Pro script (arcpy, Con + RasterToPolygon over a DEM, 1-220 m range) drafted by Steinar Kristensen at the Museum of Cultural History, University of Oslo.

changelog=
    0.1 (2026-10-08) - initial experimental release
    - Pick any loaded DEM layer/band; the water level slider recolors it live
(independently adjustable water/land opacity, so other layers stay visible).
    - Export the current level as a polygon, with island/lake noise filtering
(raster sieve), Douglas-Peucker simplification and optional corner
smoothing - edge-of-DEM artifacts are avoided by buffering before and
      cropping back after generalizing.
    - Exported polygons carry water_level_m, vertical_datum and method
attributes (vertical datum is never assumed, only ever user-supplied).
    - UI follows the QGIS application's language setting (English/Norwegian).
