description=Search STAC catalogs and open satellite images in QGIS. No account needed to start.
about=Search STAC catalogs, preview scenes and open satellite images in QGIS
without downloading files first. Pick a collection (Sentinel-2, Landsat,
Sentinel-1, elevation, land cover and more), a date range and a cloud
cover limit, and QStac searches the area shown on your map.

Microsoft Planetary Computer is the default catalog and needs no account.
Earth Search (ESA Copernicus open data on AWS) is also built in, and so
    is Copernicus Data Space (Copernicus Land Monitoring products and more;
images need S3 keys from a free account). You can add any other STAC
    API from the dock.

    Features:
    - Planetary Computer, Earth Search and Copernicus Data Space built in,
plus any STAC API you add
    - Filter by collection, date range and cloud cover
    - Search the current map view, a drawn area or selected features, with
      thumbnail previews
    - True color images made from the separate bands for you
    - NDVI, NDWI and other index layers, or your own formula
    - One-click mosaics of the whole view, clouds hidden and filled from
older scenes, or one mosaic per date for the time slider
    - NDVI over time at any point you click
    - Searches run in the background, so you can keep working in QGIS
    - Log in with any QGIS authentication method (OAuth2, Basic, API key and
      others)

    - Mosaic button: the whole map view in seconds, each pixel the median of
its newest clear views; right-click for band combinations, indices or
one mosaic per date with the time slider
    - Fill from older scenes: what clouds leave empty, filled from the year
      before
    - NDVI over time at a clicked point, in a chart
    - Search a drawn rectangle or polygon, or the selected features
    - Clouds: hide or keep them, chosen apart for scenes and for mosaics;
the first load of each asks, and Settings keeps the choice
    - MODIS NBAR daily on Planetary Computer, in true colour
    - New settings window: catalogs, search, display, mosaic, network
    - Opening a scene never moves the map; new layers land on top
    - Fixes: dark pixels no longer show as holes, temporary files are cleaned
up during the session, panning after a failed load retries, exports
and downloads take the right bands (and work on GDAL before 3.7),
the chart works on QGIS 4, and a login never goes to an http:// token

    - First release
    - Search Microsoft Planetary Computer and Earth Search with no account,
      or add any STAC API
    - Copernicus Data Space built in: the first scene asks for your S3 keys
    - Log in to your own STAC APIs with any QGIS authentication method
(OAuth2, Basic, API key, PKI and others)
    - Filter by collection, date range and cloud cover, over the area shown
      on your map
    - Load one scene, several scenes as a mosaic, or a time stack for the
      Temporal Controller
    - NDVI, NDWI and other index layers, radar ones (RVI, DpRVIc), and your
own formula over any scene's assets, e.g. (nir - red) / (nir + red)
    - Load asset lists each band by its title, data bands first
    - Export the visible area as a GeoTIFF at full resolution
