name=Layer Eraser
description=Delete a local vector layer's source data and remove its project references, directly from the Layers panel.
about=Adds Delete Layer and Source next to Remove Layer. Supports individual vector and attribute tables in GeoPackage, complete Shapefile bundles, and standalone GeoJSON. Shows the actual source and affected project layers before deletion. Includes optional backups enabled by default, dependency checks, and recovery of layer connections after errors. Deletes the entire underlying table or file, regardless of filters or selected features. Supports QGIS 3.34 and later, including QGIS 4 with Qt 6. Uses QGIS and its bundled GDAL; no additional Python packages or external accounts are required. Raster, remote, virtual, and SQL-result layers are not supported. Windows and macOS require separate platform validation.
