[general]
; Deliberately distinct from the two other GeoZarr plugins that can sit beside this
; one in the same profile: "GeoZarr Viewer" (eodcgmbh, which this is a fork of) and
; "GeoZarr" (wietzesuijker). Keep in step with PLUGIN_NAME in datacube_viewer/__init__.py
; -- scripts/build_plugin.py refuses to build if the two drift.
name=Datacube Viewer
; 3.40 is the floor because of Python, not QGIS: zarr 3 needs Python >= 3.11 and
; icechunk >= 2 needs >= 3.12, and QGIS 3.40 LTR is the first release whose standard
; Windows/macOS builds ship Python 3.12.

description=Load and visualise datacubes from GeoZarr, Zarr, NetCDF and Icechunk, with multiscale pyramids and sliders for time and other axes.
; PLACEHOLDER. The version comes from the git tag (vX.Y.Z) and scripts/build_plugin.py
; injects it here on the way into the .zip. Do not hand-edit a real number in: it
; would be overwritten, and this file would then misreport what shipped. The build
; refuses to run if this is anything other than 0.0.0. To release, tag the commit.

about=Load GeoZarr datacubes, plain Zarr stores, NetCDF files and Icechunk repositories
    as raster layers in QGIS.
Sliders in a dock panel step through the non-spatial axes of the cube (time, sensor,
etc.) and redraw the layer as you drag. The plugin reads directly from
plain Zarr v3 stores and NetCDF files as well as Icechunk repositories (local, S3,
GCS, Azure, R2 or HTTP), resolves the CRS from zarr-conventions "proj:code" or CF
grid mappings, and switches between pyramid levels as you zoom. Icechunk branches,
tags and snapshots can be selected at load time and changed afterwards without
    re-adding the layer.
    .
ONE MANUAL STEP AFTER INSTALL: this plugin needs the "zarr" (>=3) Python package
for Zarr stores and/or "netCDF4" for NetCDF files, and QGIS's Plugin Manager does
not install Python packages. After installing, open Raster > Datacube Viewer >
Install Python Dependencies... - it detects your operating system and QGIS
build and shows the exact command to run, where to run it, and the interpreter it
targets. "icechunk" is optional and only needed for Icechunk repositories. zarr
and icechunk require Python 3.12 or newer, which means QGIS 3.40 or newer.

changelog=0.2.1
    - Only http:// and https:// URLs are opened when reading a store over HTTP.
urllib will also open file:, ftp: and data:, and a store URL comes straight
from the Add GeoZarr Layer dialog, so a pasted file:/// URL could previously
turn a remote read into a local file read. Redirects are re-checked per hop,
because urllib's own redirect handler permits ftp:.
    - The resampler's index-grid invariant raises instead of asserting: asserts are
stripped under python -O, which some QGIS packagings set, and the failure then
surfaced as an opaque numpy TypeError.
    - CRS-description and ref-listing failures are logged at debug level rather than
silently swallowed, so a store that resolves its CRS wrongly leaves a trail.
    - InstallCommand.shell is now InstallCommand.terminal. No behaviour change: the
field holds a terminal's name for display, and this module never spawns a
process, but security scanners read any shell= keyword as subprocess use.
  0.2.0
    - Post-install setup is now explained in the plugin: a message-bar notice with a
"Show me how" button, and Raster > GeoZarr Viewer > Install Python
Dependencies..., both opening instructions built for the detected platform
(OSGeo4W Shell on Windows, the bundled python3 inside QGIS.app on macOS,
      conda-forge under conda/pixi, --break-system-packages where PEP 668 applies).
The command names the interpreter it targets, so a wrong guess is visible.
    - metadata: EODC is the author, with the repository and tracker links that
      plugins.qgis.org requires for upload.
  0.1.1
    - Fix a hard crash (access violation in proj_create) when opening the Add
GeoZarr Layer dialog: PROJ is now only ever entered from the main thread.
    - icechunk is optional; plain Zarr v3 stores load without it.
    - qgisMinimumVersion raised to 3.40, which is the first release shipping the
Python 3.12 that zarr 3 and icechunk require.
  0.1.0
    - First release: geozarr raster provider, multiscale pyramid selection,
Icechunk branch/tag/snapshot loading and in-place time travel.
