Optimizing QField Configuration:
To facilitate the transfer of complete QGIS projects to QField with minimal preparation and for autonomous use even without an active connection.
Here are some useful things to do and know:
- 1 Using the transfer cable, connect the Android device to your computer and ensure full access to the following folder:
This PC/"Your Device Name"/Internal Shared Storage/Android/data/ch.opengis.qfield/files/Imported Project/s
- 2 Create a subfolder "Rasters" in this folder and copy all usable reference rasters. *** WARNING *** all rasters to be used with QField must be in GPKG format.
- 3 *** IMPORTANT *** Before starting the file copy, select the rasters to keep in the project, then when the "Packaging large rasters" dialog box appears, choose the button:
► Stop copying but keep in the project" if these GPKG rasters were previously copied to the Android device.
NOTE IN THIS CASE: When selecting data to transfer to the Android device, remove the "Rasters" folder from the selection, or refuse replacement when the Windows warning appears.
► Copy" if these rasters are in GPKG format.
► Stop copying and remove from the project" to delete the raster from the project. In this case, it will no longer be available in QField, even if it was previously copied to the "Rasters" folder.
- 4 After taking the above remarks into account, copy the contents of the folder C:/Users/"Your Username"/Downloads/Imported Projects
into the folder This PC/"Your Device Name"/Internal Shared Storage/Android/data/ch.opengis.qfield/files/Imported Projects on your Android device.
Enjoy!
