The plugin saves the result as a new GeoTIFF and leaves your original DEM unchanged.\r\n\r\nIn Road mode, draw a centerline and set a buffer distance on the left, right, or both sides. The plugin creates a surface that is flat across the road and follows a smoothed elevation profile along its length. You can adjust the profile smoothing to control how the road follows changes in terrain.\r\n\r\nIn Flat corridor mode, you can set the whole area to an elevation you enter or use the mean or median elevation along its edge. Define the area by drawing a buffered line, selecting polygon features, or using all features in a polygon layer.\r\n\r\nAn optional outside transition blends the edited surface into the surrounding ground. \r\nThe plugin also saves a separate polygon shapefile of the corridor, reports the number of changed pixels, the maximum cut and fill.\r\n\r\nBefore you start: \r\n- Use a file-based, single-band DEM. Both the DEM and the QGIS project need projected coordinate systems with metre units. \r\n- Choose a DEM resolution suited to the width you want to represent.\r\n- When you buffer both sides of a line, the distance applies to each side.
